1. Analytical chemistry
   • Separation techniques, liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, direct analysis to MS
2. Inborn errors of metabolism
   • Purine and pyrimidine metabolism, expanded newborn screening for inborn errors of metabolism (IEM), selective screening for IEM by direct analysis/MS, external/internal quality control system, LC/MS for diagnosis of selected IEM
3. Therapeutic drug monitoring
   • Development of LC/MS methods for routine analysis of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), antihypertensives, methotraxate, immunosuppressants and others; direct analysis methods for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM)
4. Metabolomics and lipidomics
   • Development of LC/MS and FIA/MS methods for metabolomic analysis of clinical samples – urine, plasma/serum, erythrocytes, leukocytes, fibroblasts, breath condensate, cell lines, etc.
   • Development of methods for targeted metabolomics using LC/QqQ and for untargeted metabolomics using LC/Orbitrap
   • Processing of targeted and untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics data
5. Metabolic profiling of drugs and their metabolised derivates
   • Development of LC/MS methods based on high-resolution, exact mass measurements for identification of novel metabolites in biofluids and tissues and subsequent confirmation by MS2 experiments; correlation of metabolite levels with drug response
   • Pharmacometabolomics of drugs (e.g. TKI) for TDM and profiling experiments
6. Statistics
   • Univariate statistical methods for the analysis and interpretation of biological data
   • Statistical evaluation of metabolomic data using multivariate approaches (PCA, PLS-DA, HCA, cluster analysis, OPLS-DA, etc.)
   • Data normalization and scaling
